Main Street Keokuk is accepting applications for our inaugural Hometown Heroes Military & Veteran Banner Program, which honors those who are serving or have served in the United States Armed Forces.
The program is intended to show our appreciation for veteran and
military personnel and their families who have ties to the Keokuk area.
Banners will display a photo of the service person as well as their name, branch, rank, and dates (or era) of military service.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Hometown Heroes Military & Veteran Banner Program, one of the following criteria must be met:
1. The honoree is an active-duty member of the United States Armed
Forces
2. The honoree is a retired, deceased, or honorably discharged member of the United States Armed Forces who currently resides or has
previously resided in Keokuk.
3. The applicant is a current resident or business based in Keokuk.
Banner Style & Display
Each banner is double-sided and full color, and measure 18”x38” OR 29″x59″. Each is custom made with an image of the honoree (provided by the applicant).
Banners will be placed on decorative light poles on Main Street in time for Memorial Day and will remain up through Veterans Day. They will be installed again next year from Memorial Day through Veterans Day.
Banners will be sold on a first come, first served basis as payment is received. Neither Main Street Keokuk or the City of Keokuk will be responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged, or destroyed due to sun, weather, age, vandalism, or any act of nature beyond our control, such as high winds. Upon removal of the banner after the second year, every effort will be made to give the banner to the honoree or applicant.
Cost & Details
Banners measuring 18”x38” are $150 and those measuring 29″x59″ are $200 for both years. Cost covers the purchase of the banner, installation, and maintenance, as well as a contribution to American Legion Post 41 Keokuk. Applicants are required to provide a high-quality photo of the honoree in military uniform. If a digital copy is unavailable, please bring the picture to the Main Street Keokuk office at 1026 Main Street and it will be digitized for you. Order form, photos, and payment must be received no later than March 12, 2025.
Applications may be submitted in person at the Main Street Keokuk office or printed off our website and mailed at www.mainstreetkeokuk.com. Payment must be received for the application to be processed. Checks should be made payable to Main Street Keokuk, Inc. Credit card payments will also be accepted for an additional processing fee. The deadline to submit an order form and payment is Wednesday, March 12th.

1. Complete the order form (available online at www.mainstreetkeokuk.com)
2. Provide a military photo (submit high resolution jpg to info@mainstreetkeokuk.com. Be sure the file name includes the name of the honoree on the application. You may also provide a hard copy to be digitized.)
